The Septic Guard controller is installed near the tank(s) you wish to monitor. The Septic Guard controller receives inputs from the tank(s) via float switches. The base controller supports up to 5 inputs. The number of floats installed largely depends on the customers needs. At a minimum one float is used and positioned to give notification of a tank full condition, but many home customers of holding tanks that require pumping put at least three floats in place and set them at the 50% full, 75% full, and 100% full positions. For dual tank owners two floats are typically put in the first tank at 50% and 100% full and two in the second tank at 50% and 75% full. Septic Guard allows the user to view the level of their tank(s) over a cell phone anytime they wish and customers with holding tanks use this feature as a tool to schedule normal pumping visits, eliminating costly, non-emergency after hour or weekend pumping.
No, Septic Guard will send out notifications over email/text to your cell phone for all of the level thresholds or any of the level thresholds you request. Most customers receive notifications when their tank is at 75% full to indicate it is time to pump.
Multi-Flow customers typically place floats on both of the tanks and the aeration / filter tank (total of three floats). Additionally, SepticGuard has a current monitor option that Multi-Flow users use to monitor the current that the blower motor is drawing. SepticGuard will automatically notify the customer and/or the service provider of any of the three tanks being in a high level state or of a high current draw on the blower motor.
